August 19, 2002 - Andrew Been a couple months since the site has been updated. Decided to clean up the site a little and update all the oper info and such. Changed the from from Trebuchet MS to Tahoma. I like it. :)
June 22, 2002 - Megaboz Well, its been a while since the last update, so just a quick status update on how things have been going. Network usage is up, up, up! More people every day are discovering the joy of FreedomIRC. In addition, I'd like to give a special thanks to Richard and ymir.freedomirc.net/irc.squarextreme.com for such dedication to the network. Have fun chatting, everyone! :)
December 24, 2001 - Megaboz First off, and most importantly, Happy Holidays everyone! We hope this season has been a special time for you this year! Secondly, FreedomIRC has grown again! We would like to welcome the Squaresoft Extreme team to the network, who have decided to help out by becoming a leaf server as well! Additionally, we have made our Norway server, Asgard, more accessible, which means double the chatting power for you guys. You can continue to connect to 'irc.freedomirc.net', and our servers will redirect you where necessary as before. Thats all for now - see you in 2002!
August 9, 2001 - Megaboz FreedomIRC is holding a contest starting August 13th! This is your chance to get your hands on a free game under $50. See details at http://www.freedomirc.net/contest.php.
March 8, 2001 - Megaboz News time! After the steady increase of use at FreedomIRC, we thought it was about time to increase the size of the network to accomodate all these new faces. So we're proud to introduce a new addition to the network, "Valhalla". You can continue to connect 'irc.freedomirc.net', and our servers will redirect you where necessary. Speaking of increased business, FreedomIRC is doing terrific! More and more people are discovering the joy of chatting on our network every day! If you haven't experienced the atmosphere of our network, then connect now! I'd also like to take a moment to thank all the channels, new and old, that have made their permenant home on FreedomIRC. Kraptastica, Final Fantasy: Worlds Apart, Final Fantasy Online Strategy Guides, All RPG, and the list goes on. Thanks guys! Till next time...
November 23, 2000 - Megaboz It's been almost 2 months now since FreedomIRC's official opening, and the network is growing quite nicely. FreedomIRC is now the official home of #ff-wa, the chatroom of the popular website 'Final Fantasy: World Apart', and #ffosg, official chatroom for the 'Final Fantasy Online Strategy Guides' website. Many other smaller channels are formed everyday, in response to the popularity of our network.
October 6, 2000 - Megaboz Official public opening of FreedomIRC! After 2 months of configuration, testing, and gaining the support of various members of the Internet community, we felt that FreedomIRC was finally ready to fly. Though the network is small right now, we are in hopes that one day it will grow to become widely used, the world over. I really think that we can do this - we have a terrific staff who have been willing to sacrifice much of their time for the good of the network. Also - we are founded on the principles of being there for the user when other IRC networks are not. I've read through the message boards of countless big name networks, only to see hundreds of complaints about rude IRCops, random K-linings, and generally unprofessional behavior. I think these bigger networks have really forgotten the point of why they started an IRC network in the first place. People - we're here to talk and have a good time, maybe make some friends along the way. That's really what we're all about. We give you the freedom here to feel comfortable and relaxed, and have a good time. So, kick back, open up your favorite IRC client, and come on over. Thanks everyone, and enjoy!
